Have you ever felt as though you were carrying a weight on your shoulders, one that no one else can see? For many individuals, this feeling can be traced back to unresolved stressful experiences from early childhood. As a therapist who specializes in complex post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD), I understand how profoundly early experiences can shape our lives, influencing our emotions, relationships, and overall sense of self. You are not alone in this journey, and help is available.
C-PTSD often emerges from prolonged exposure to traumatic events during formative years. Some of these experiences present as attachment patterns with parents, navigating events such as parents divorcing or uprooting and moving, the absence of love and connection in early childhood, or witnessing physical or emotional abuse. Unlike PTSD, which typically stems from a single incident, C-PTSD manifests as a complex tapestry of reactions, often leaving individuals
feeling emotionally dysregulated, detached, or overwhelmed by overwhelming feelings of anxiety, shame, or guilt. These feelings can complicate daily life, making it hard to form healthy relationships, trust others, or even enjoy the present.
In our therapeutic work together, we will delve into the roots of your experiences, creating a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your emotions without judgment. Through trauma-informed techniques, brainspotting, and neuroscience-informed counseling, we can begin to untangle the impact of your childhood experiences. My goal is to empower you to reclaim
your narrative, developing coping strategies and emotional resilience along the way.
Take that first step towards healing and rediscovery. Together, we can work towards understanding and transforming your relationship with the past, allowing you to pave the way for a future filled with hope and possibility. You deserve to live a life free from the shackles of trauma, and I am here to guide you on that journey.
