Scott Wertheimer is a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Sonoma State University. He completed his Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology at Dominican University of California. Scott has experience in both community and school settings where he helped preteens to older adults navigate life’s different challenges. Scott enjoys working with clients from all different backgrounds and finds joy in learning about each client and finding ways to support and celebrate them.
Scott works from a Client-Centered approach where therapy is collaborative and is at a pace that feels best for the client. Scott aims to provide a safe and calming space that allows clients to freely explore and understand the barriers getting in their way. Scott utilizes a Strengths-Based focus to help clients tap into the strengths and abilities that they already possess, as well as learning new ones to incorporate into their life. By tapping into strengths, clients are able to build confidence, resilience, and learn healthy ways to respond to difficult feelings and situations.
Scott emphasizes creating small, obtainable goals that can lead to real, everlasting change over time. Scott prides himself on his ability to be there for his clients no matter what struggles they are going through. Scott firmly believes that therapy can improve people’s quality of life and will be by client’s side for each step of that journey.
